K.K. Chip

This song was my way of demonstrating custom waveforms in LSDJ, by creating a singing Wave channel. More specifically, I recreated K.K. Slider’s samples using the Game Boy’s wave channel, and used that to create a medley of various chiptunes. The first third of the song features songs from Game Boy games, and the remainder of the song features songs from artists within the chip music scene.

Last Christmas (You BRK’D My Heart)

This was featured on the Nerdfit Christmas album, Jingle Jawnz. I had recently recreated the “BRK” sample (a sound effect included with LSDJ, and a running joke within the chip community), in the wave channel, and decided to use it as the lead instrument in a song. This was the result, and it was the beginning of my “singing wave channel” experiments.

Kirby Stole All of the Ice Cream

In 2013, some chip scene folks and I teamed up to create an album full of remixes of Storm Blooper‘s debut single, Someone Stole All of the Ice Cream. My contribution was a Kirby-styled remix, featuring sound effects from Kirby’s Dream Land, Green Greens-inspired instruments, and some samples. The outro references the 0² theme from Kirby 64: the Crystal Shards, with some chip-step wubs.
